Why did you start working with Tasty Edits?
Eric Wise: I use my YouTube channel as one leg of my business, Skill Foundry, which teaches coding skills. I also have online courses for people who want to learn how to code and a consulting side for businesses. I use my YouTube channel to enhance both sides of what I do, but I don’t have the time to do all my editing – I have way too much work to do.
My advantage is that I have other streams of income. So I was able to hire editors and, eventually, scale up to where I realized that a channel manager would benefit me.
Because of course I could learn video editing and SEO. But do I have time for that? Is that a good use of my effort? No, there’s tons of people out there who have that skill. They study it. They value it and they’re going to be better than me at it. So it’s strategically picking the things that you can provide the most value in, the most growth. And then anything that you can’t do that, try to outsource it. And that’s where Tasty Edits has been a great partner for me because it gives me more time to focus on strategic things.

What do you appreciate most about the editors at Tasty Edits?
Eric Wise: I really liked that I have a channel manager, a thumbnail designer, an editor, and even an account manager. So if I have any issues – which I never did – there’s somebody that can help me wrangle this stuff. The theme is, it makes my time more efficient.
My editors have picked up on how I like to do things, text overlays and such. The overall theme of the channel. The feedback process, going back and forth, was really easy because Tasty Edits uses frame.io, a fantastic tool for leaving notes and feedback. Everything that has come out, I’ve been really, really happy with – especially compared to some of the freelance editors I tried before.
