In 2024, Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast (born May 7, 1998) is the biggest YouTuber out there.

With well over 40 billion video views and some 370 million subscribers across his main channel, MrBeast 2 (formerly MrBeast Shorts), Beast Reacts, MrBeast Gaming, and Beast Philanthropy, he is a behemoth influencer. He’s also received tons of accolades, including winning the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Male Social Star and the Creator of the Year Streamy Award. Plus, he was named among Time Magazine’s Most Influential People last year.

Considering all this, it’s hardly surprising that he’s also one of the biggest earners on YouTube!

His income is as legendary as his stunts, reaction videos, and giveaways, from getting buried alive for 7 days to giving a homeless man a house.

Between ad revenue, merchandise sales, partnerships, and his own companies, MrBeast is earning a fortune every day.

In fact, he’s got enough that he can regularly afford to go for truly extravagant content, such as giving his 100,000,000th subscriber a private island. Or buying an entire neighborhood in North Carolina for his staff to live in. Not to mention his car collection.

MrBeast is not afraid to spend his cash – and it often goes to viewers.

Forbes even projected that MrBeast could become the first YouTube billionaire.

But looking beyond the legend, how much money does MrBeast have exactly

That question is tricky to answer, since MrBeast doesn’t break down his earnings. Then again, hardly any other YouTubers – or celebrities in general – do. We do know roughly how much he made last year, though.

We did the research, pulling together all available data from dozens of sources. Here’s everything you need to know.

Contents

How Much Does MrBeast Earn?

According to Fortune, MrBeast’s earnings lie between $500 million and $700 million per year from various ventures as of 2024.

This makes him not only the biggest, but also one of the highest-paid YouTubers, among peers like Logan Paul, Jake Paul, Like Nastya, Vlad and Niki, and Ryan Kaji. But how do MrBeast’s earnings break down, exactly?

Here are his most important income streams.

YouTube AdSense

MrBeast has come a long way since he started as a 12-year-old YouTuber making video game commentary. His latest videos typically earn over 100 million views in a single week.

Here’s just how staggering the difference in production is:

According to analysts, he makes a minimum of $3 million a month in YouTube ad revenue alone. That figure is calculated from the number of views on his videos every month and their CPM (cost per mille), which ranges from $8 to $10.

Merchandise & Sponsoring

Another major income stream for MrBeast are merchandise sales. He offers a wide range of branded products, including t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and water bottles. One estimate has him earn nearly $2.5 million a month on merch on average, based on what similar stores make.

Donaldson's Brand Deals and Partnerships

Next up, MrBeast also earns significant amounts of money from brand deals and partnerships. For example, he’s had sponsorship agreements with various brands, such as Honey, Microsoft, Verizon, and Electronic Arts.

In March 2024, it was even announced that he’d landed a deal with Amazon Prime, to create “Beast Games” – the highest-paying game show ever.  MrBeast will be the producer and game show host, accompanying 1,000 contestants as they chase after a $5 million prize. It’s conjectured that he’ll be paid in the realm of $100 million for the gig.

MrBeast's Businesses

Finally, there are his own business ventures, especially MrBeast Burger and Feastables candy.

MrBeast Burger launched in December 2020. It’s a virtual restaurant developed together with Virtual Dining Concepts LLC. You can order burgers, fries, and beverages from an app and they’ll be delivered from one of over 1,000 contracted restaurants.

Plus, there’s one physical MrBeast Burger location in New Jersey. Even though there have been tensions with business partners – including a lawsuit over alleged low food quality – MrBeast Burger brought in over $100 million between 2020 and 2022.

As for Feastables, MrBeast launched this candy business back in 2022 together with Jim Murray, formerly president of protein bar company RXBAR. Feastables sold over 1 million chocolate bars in its first 72 hours, and brought in over $10 million in its first four months. Today, Feastables is sold at major stores like Walmart, Target, and 7Eleven. In 2023, the snack brand started sponsoring an NBA team, with its logo now appearing on the jersey of the Charlotte Hornets.

In addition, MrBeast also owns two tech companies, both of which offer services essential to content creators. One of them, ViewStats, is an analytics company. The other, Creator Global, offers language dubbing for online videos.

Finally, he was an early partner of the Creator Juice fund, which gives select creators funds and practical advice to drive their growth – in return for a cut of their income.

MrBeast's Reinvestment Strategy

MrBeast is known for his perfectionism and extravagant stunts, always seeking to outdo himself. That has its cost: According to one source, current production costs for his YouTube videos average around $300,000. That’s not even including the expensive giveaways, though these are often sponsored.

All told, some of his videos take several million dollars to make.  In August 2020, for example, he spent over $3 million on rent, staff salaries, and production costs.

However, MrBeast does not actually control his own finances. Since 2017, Donaldson’s mother, Susan Parisher, has served as the company’s chief compliance officer, as he told Fortune: “I don’t have access to any of my bank accounts,” says Donaldson. “I have a CFO and everything, but [my mom’s] the one who has access to the master bank account.”

MrBeast's Philanthropic Activities

One final factor that’s important to take into account when calculating MrBeast’s net worth is that he gives away a huge chunk of his income.

He’s considered the pioneer of philanthropic YouTube stunt videos. While his somewhat sensationalist approach has drawn some criticism, his work has an undeniable impact on many people’s lives.

MrBeast donated shoes to kids in Africa, drawing some fire for the perceived sensationalism.

But not all of Donaldson’s philanthropy is televised, so to say. He also donates regularly to charities and NGOs. Some of the projects he’s supported include:

  • giving $3 million to Ukrainian refugees
  • raising over $23 million for #Team Trees with former NASA engineer Mark Rober to plant 20 million trees
  • donating to the Veterans Army Wounded Warrior Program
  • supporting Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
  • funding cataract surgery for 1,000 blind people
  • donating to a wide range of animal shelters, food banks, and homeless shelters

With Beast Philanthropy, he runs an entire YouTube channel with some 24 million subscribers, dedicated entirely to his activities as a philanthropist. Many of his videos feature him participating in a fundraising challenge or directly giving away cash randomly to people in need.

Giving back is a huge part of MrBeast’s philosophy. Back in 2020, he explained the motivations behind his acts of charity on Twitter (now X). In his tweet, he said:

“I promise I’m dying with 0 dollars in my bank account and I refuse to live a materialistic life. I want to build other channels like Beast gaming and Beast reacts so I can run my main channel at a loss and grow as big as possible. And then use my main channel’s influence to one day open hundreds of homeless shelters/food banks and give away all the money!”

Finally, MrBeast has also encouraged his supporters to become active themselves and go out to engage in random acts of kindness.

What’s MrBeast’s Net Worth?

Given his various income streams and outgoing cashflows, estimating MrBeast’s net worth is actually quite tricky. And guesstimate we must, because the content creator himself hasn’t offered up a lot of information.

According to a Forbes analysis, MrBeast was worth around $500 million in 2023. Since MrBeast is slated to become a member of the Forbes Board once a planned sale of a company is completed, we can assume that number to be fairly accurate.

However, other estimates are a little more modest, putting MrBeast’s net worth at just above $106 million or, in another source, at $105 million.

When it comes to his lifestyle, some of it is extravagant, some of it surprisingly unpretentious.

Even though he bought an entire neighborhood just outside of Greenville, North Carolina, he himself lives in a fairly modest $318K house. All his real estate investments in the area amount to over $2 million.

In contrast, MrBeast’s car collection is extensive and extravagant. Among other models, he owns:

  • a Tesla Model 3 (from $43,000)
  • a Nissan Armada (from $56,000)
  • a BMW 3 series (from $46,000)
  • a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder (from $275,000) and
  • a Lamborghini Gallardo (from $130,000)

Though he doesn’t own it, MrBeast has also test-driven a car worth 100 million – a Ferrari 125 S.

However, in late 2022, MrBeast took the initiative. In a bid to go big, he set out to raise $150 million in funding for his businesses, including the studio in which he produces his videos. The valuation for this endeavor? $1.5 billion, according to Fortune and Axios, as Donaldson is offering just a 10% stake.

This deal, if it goes through, would make him the first billionaire YouTuber. Will he get there? We don’t know yet – but he seems to be on the right path.

One thing is for sure, however: MrBeast is an expert in monetizing his awesome popularity. And he is, after all, the single most popular YouTuber, both in subscribers and his large collection of Choice Awards and Streamy awards.

The Bottom Line

All things considered, MrBeast’s annual income lies around $500-700 million. Of that, $3 million a month alone come from YouTube ads. However, he invests most of it right back into his content.

Given the large sums of money he spends on both video production and philanthropic endeavors, his exact net worth is difficult to estimate. However, it’s likely to lie between $100 million and $500 million.

For the moment, at least.

MrBeast, who dropped out of East Carolina University to pursue a full-time YouTube career, is continuing to push beyond his audience’s wildest expectations.
